Qummune Quercetin Phytosome Ingredient

Clinical Research

Qummune® includes ingredients that were selected based on peer-reviewed research and clinical studies.  The driving qualification was not to select the most "economical" but rather to select the very best.  Research summaries for each ingredient chosen as well as publications showing benefits are being provided so our customers can review and conclude for themselves.*

Quercefit® - Quercetin Phytosome

Not all Quercetin is the same.  Qummune® is formulated with Quercefit® - Quercetin Phytosome which has peer-reviewed clinical studies from Indena® showing it to have up to 20X more absorption than regular quercetin.*1  The Quercefit® research conducted by Indena® not only showed its safety but also demonstrated its effectiveness in allergy and immune support as well as benefits with oxidative stress and respiratory support.*2,3  Below are a few summaries of the research conducted and their results.

Albion® Zinc and Zinc

Bisglycinate Chelate Zinc from Albion® is a reacted, nutritionally functional zinc amino acid chelate. According to Albion® studies it is not handled in the gut in the same way as the typical zinc salt forms. Albion® Chelated Zinc is absorbed intact and is not ionized.* [See Albion Zinc Research-1 below].  A peer-reviewed study comparing Zinc bisglycinate vs Zinc gluconate showed that the Zinc bisglycinate was safe and well tolerated and significantly increased the oral bioavailability of zinc (+43.4%) compared to the gluconate.*4 [pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov published]

Vitamin C and PureWay-C

The proprietary lipid metabolite delivery technology of PureWay-C® acts on cellular absorption helping to get Vitamin C into the blood stream and throughout the body.*  PureWay-C® was chosen not only for its superior absorption qualities but also for its increased retention time of Vitamin C compared to regular Vitamin C's.*5  See research summaries below.

Vitamin D3

The implications of Vitamin D deficiency on the immune system have become clearer in recent years and in the context of Vitamin D deficiency, there appears to be an increased susceptibility* [See Vitamin D Research Summary-2 below].  An important discovery from a meta-analysis of 18 randomized controlled trials, published in Alternative Medicine Review, showed that that "supplemental cholecalciferol (vitamin D) significantly reduces all-cause mortality emphasizes the medical, ethical, and legal implications of promptly diagnosing and adequately treating vitamin D deficiency."6 The study reported not only are deficiencies common, but Vitamin D deficiency is implicated in a variety of health problems.*6   [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov]

Vitamin K2

Vitamins D and K are both fat-soluble vitamins and play a central role in calcium metabolism. Vitamin D promotes the production of Vitamin K-dependent proteins, which require Vitamin K for carboxylation in order to function properly* [See Vitamin K Research Summary-1 below]. A low level of Vitamin K is associated with increased vascular calcifications, but these levels can be improved by effective vitamin K supplementation*7 [See Vitamin K Research Summary-2 below].
